The choice to go to Padua Academy, is the best decision that I have ever made. I joined a family when I entered the halls of Padua. Padua is different from any other school, it teaches information, morals, life lessons, and encourages your faith. While at Padua I learned life lessons along with Padua lessons. If I could I would do the last four years all over again, with my Padua sisters.
Padua gave me the skills to be myself and be that well, while at Padua and for the future. Freshman year I came to school not knowing a soul, but as a senior I leave with 140 sisters. I learned a few things along the way with the help of the Padua community. I learned to make sure you wear the proper uniform and you will have no troubles. Make sure you do your homework because when you do not, that is the day your teacher will check. If you are between two answers, go with your gut because it is most likely right. Go into everything you do with heart and for the pursuit of greatness. Feel comfortable in who you are because God made you that way. That if you need help, the “Box of Love” will be there for you. Padua also helped me develop a base of morals and beliefs. This school was strong and showed me how to tackle difficult life situations and come out better because of them.
While at Padua I had many experiences that I would do over again because of the friends I made, perspective I got, or the fun I had. Though I struggled with French, I came out with friends that I will have for a long time, and to this day we bring up memories from French class. If I could I would go back on Encounter in a heart beat, it showed me a new perspective of how to see life from other people and that God is with you in everything. The security of that feeling could never be experienced too much. The Winter Balls are some of my fondest memories of Padua, just being fun with friends was the way I wanted to spend my high school career. Those dances consisted of dressing up, music, and hanging out with friends, all of my favorite things. In my four years at Padua I leave knowing that I enjoyed every experience fully and if possible would do over again.
Padua is an unique school in which you get a different high school experience than most other places. This school has opened the door for me in many ways, the only regret is that I joined clubs later in my time here. I became apart of Student Ambassadors and Student Council in my junior year, though I enjoyed my time I wish I had begun earlier. These clubs can help you shape what you are going to do for the rest of your life. Blue-Gold has inspired me to continue working with members of the special needs community. The opportunities that are awarded to the students at Padua should not be taken advantage of instead should be treasured.
