Mrs. Hoppenjans is a new teacher here at Padua Academy. So far she has very much enjoyed teaching here. As she explained, “The love for everyone in the building is tremendous and you wouldn’t find it at any other school.” She also enjoys the welcoming atmosphere of Padua and teaching all girls. When asked what drew her to come and teach at Padua, she said, “Padua has a very good reputation and I know the department head and Mrs. Mann.” Mrs. Hoppenjans has not only taught Spanish. In fact, when she attended college at the University of Delaware, she majored in accounting. After the first semester, she knew it wasn’t the right major so she switched majors and focused on education. Then, Mrs. Hoppenjans taught French for a year and soon began teaching Spanish. This year marks her 8 year anniversary of teaching Spanish. In about 10-20 years Mrs. Hoppenjans can still see herself teaching and “just doing what I’m doing” because she loves being in education.

Mrs. Hoppenjans is officially a long term substitute at Padua filling in for Mrs. Burris, who is on maternity leave, and then for Mrs. Bilboa, who will soon be on maternity leave.
