Beginning the Fun:
On Saturday December 2, the Blue-Gold committee arranged a Christmas party for kids with Down Syndrome. Members of Blue-Gold arrived in the cafeteria before 11:00 AM to help decorate the cafeteria and they organized the activities that were planned for the party. Another thing Blue Gold members did was bring baked goods, drinks, and other types of foods for attending families. Soft play equipment installation was done so many activities are available for the kids to play. Blue-Gold members made sure everything was set up and ready to go before the guests showed up. Everyone was ready and anxious for families to start arriving. When people began to arrive, that is when fun really got started. Families and kids were enjoying themselves. Blue-Gold members were assigned to specific jobs such as escorting kids and their families to each station, showing guests the train, managing the food station, and hosting the different activities.
Sharing a Good Time:
The party had all sorts of fun activities. The Christmas music which really got kids dancing with the blue-gold members. As time passed on the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves more and more. Later on Mrs. Mann came out dressed as Mrs. Claus. She read a Christmas story to the kids in the library. When “Mrs. Claus” finished reading, Santa Claus showed up and began to hand out presents to the kids. After that was done Santa led the kids in singing some Christmas songs into the microphone. The party ended with everyone having a wonderful time.
