2015 Award Ceremony

2015+Award+Ceremony

As a new school year began, Padua Academy came together early September 8th to celebrate achievements from the 2014-2015 school year.  16 students from the class of 2018, 15 from the class of 2017, and 17 students from the class of 2016 received awards for having the highest average in a subject area.

Along with those awards, individual awards from outside institutions were honored.  Lynsie Grant, a junior, received First Place for 2 Dimensional Art in the 9th and 10th Grade category at Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition. Sophomore Ursula Dzik’s charcoal drawing called “Woman in the Moon” was among the selected to be shown at the Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts Excellence in Drawing.  Delaware College of Art and Design Annual High School Art Show’s second place award of a full scholarship to attend DCAD’s observational drawing class went to junior Emily Schroeder for her Graphic Design piece “Perfection.”  Ashley Williams, junior, represented Padua at Delaware Governor’s School for Excellence in the Arts in July.  Padua’s Rensselaer Medalist from the Class of 2016 is Audrey Ostroski due to her outstanding academic achievement in the study of mathematics and science. Handing out custom engraved plaques and certificates is a great way to recognize hard work and boost morale.

Padua honored several seniors who represented Padua at the National History Day Nationals during the summer at the University of Maryland.  The 2015-2016 Delaware Secondary School Mathematics League participants and the Moody’s Mega Math Challenge participants were also recognized during the assembly as well as the more than 90 students who went above and beyond to achieve perfect attendance in the 2014-2015 school year.  Congratulations to all the honorees who earned awards for last year’s achievements.
