Welcome to Padua Mrs. Houseal!

Welcome to Padua Mrs. Houseal!

Last week, Padua Academy welcomed Mrs. Carol Houseal into the big box of love. Mrs. Houseal is Padua’s new Director of Communications. She comes to Padua from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute in Wilmington, Delaware. There, she was the Associate Director of Communications and Events. Mrs. Houseal has been in communications for about ten years now. Even though she is not in school, she says, “Technology has advanced quite fast and it’s continuing to get faster and faster and more techniques are used to promote. So that has been an ongoing learning curve for any communications person. I’m always a student, that’s for sure.”

Mrs. Houseal was actually born in Frankfurt, Germany where her father was stationed in the army. She lived in Germany until she was a year old and then moved to Delaware. Mrs. Houseal lived in Delaware until tenth grade, then she moved to Chicago. She moved back to Delaware her senior year and has lived here ever since.

Mrs. Houseal has a full house and enjoys many hobbies. She is married to Tim Houseal and has two girls, one who is a junior here at Padua and one who is a seventh grader at The Independence School. They also have a golden retriever-boxer mix named Rusty. Mrs. Houseal’s favorite hobby is dancing to live music. Aside from dancing, Mrs. Houseal enjoys traveling, “I love the Caribbean. I would go there anytime, anywhere, any amount, anything. We love that place. And our honeymoon was in St. John, Virgin Islands and so we try to go anywhere in that area.”

Mrs. Houseal chose to work here at Padua because, “I believe in its values, I believe in its motto of growing girls in Christ, and I have come to love it by serving on the committee of Women’s Achievement Board.” Her mission here at Padua is: “To promote Padua to the community, to highlight the talents and promote those talents and successes of Padua graduates, current students, and show what a great institution it is in our community.”
