Junior Class Elections

Junior+Class+Elections

Early last week, the junior class got together in Roberto Hall and listened to a handful of speeches given by their classmates. The candidates running each gave speeches explaining why they would like to be elected as a junior class officer. Emily T., a former sophomore class officer hoping to be elected again as a junior, mentions, “after my experiences last year, I had to do it again. I have some great ideas for this year and wanted a chance to help my Junior classmates have a great time.” Having been a class officer before, Emily knows what it takes to be successful in this position.

As class officers, the students must reach a certain GPA and have a minimum number of infractions. As a junior class officer, each of the elected members are responsible for planning and organizing events specifically for the junior class and for being a part of Padua’s student council as a whole. Padua’s student council is comprised of homeroom representatives, class officers, and executive officers.

After hearing the speeches and voting, the junior student body elected Emily T., Brittany P., Claire C., and Erin S.. When asked about what they are looking forward to as being junior class officers, Emily said that she and the other class officers are most excited to have the opportunity to work on and plan the junior prom this year. She mentioned different events when stating, “planning prom is probably the most exciting thing because it is our first official Padua prom. I know all four of us will work to make prom a success.” Emily also commented that she and the three other officers are “going to make it an amazing year!” These class officers have already started working hard to make this a great year.
