What a Masquerade!

On January 24, Padua held its annual Winter Ball for the freshman and sophomore classes.  The theme this year was a masquerade ball.  These students left school early at 1:40 that day to get ready for the dance.  After getting their hair done and makeup on, some lowerclassmen took pictures at each other’s houses with their dates and friends.  Afterwards, everyone headed to school and walked into the cafeteria to see it covered in red, white, and black.  The girls who went looked gorgeous, and their dresses were very beautiful as well.  Some girls wore masks to match the masquerade theme.  The songs played included classics like  “Cotton Eye Joe” and “Cupid Shuffle,” but also songs by popular artists like Taylor Swift.

After mingling with friends, checking out the dresses, and seeing who took who, people started to dance and have a great time.  Whenever their feet got tired, students could sit down on the couches or take pictures.  This year, Padua brought in Soundsation Photobooth to take some pictures so Padua students could remember their Winter Ball.  But when the clock struck 10 o’clock, the music stopped and the lights turned on. No one was ready to go home because they had such a fun time. Bailey T., a freshman, said “I had a great time hanging with friends, taking pictures, and getting together with the Salesianum boys.”  Everyone went home with a smile on their faces and great memories of a wonderful night.
