We’ve got spirit, yes we do. We’ve got spirit how about you!

Last week there was a lot to celebrate at Padua Academy! It was both Catholic Schools Week and Spirit Week. The week was very fun and ended with a Spirit Day in Friday. Students received a dress down in their class colors. There was even an opportunity to order Spirit Week tee-shirts.  Freshmen wore green, sophomores wore blue, juniors wore pink, and last but not least the seniors wore gold.

Along with the dress down, students had the opportunity to “dress up for spirit.” Many girls had face paint, sunglasses, colored shoes, jewelry, and hair accessories. Creativity was a must, and certain girls certainly went above and beyond to show off their spirit for Padua! Senior Sarah C. took this to a whole new level with her gold basketball shorts, black tights, Spirit Week shirt, and her face colorfully spirited in Padua’s signature colors of black and gold.

At the end of the day on Friday, the Senior Executives held an amazing Spirit Assembly. According to Padua Freshmen, Alyssa D., the best part of the whole event was being able to come together as a school community.  Spirit assemblies are probably the best way at Padua to come together in this way. It is a time for friends to come together, to have fun,  to showcase school spirit, and to be one body in Christ. It is truly a fun way for all that stress of school to be forgotten.

As the whole student  body was entering the gymnasium, there certainly was a lot of cheering, chanting, and yelling. After everybody got in, they found their friends and sat together. After that, many pictures were taken among friends. Like everything at Padua, the assembly started off with the class president leading everybody in prayer. After that, there were many fun games played. Some of the games included musical chairs, Simon Says, a relay obstacle course, and a few others. There was also a sing off between the classes. There were scores kept for all of these activities, a winner was announced. The senior class ended up getting the most points and winning. The assembly ended with a special performance from Padua’s very own dance team.

It is very safe to say that the Spirit Assembly was a lot of fun for everybody involved. Teachers, students, administration, and the executives all equally had an enjoyable time. The executives did an amazing job putting the Spirit Assembly together, and students can not wait to see what is in store next!
