Scheduling

It’s scheduling time again! Students of all ages at Padua Academy are heading to the guidance office to talk about the electives and courses they can take next year. Time to fill out that colored sheet with first and second choices of electives and handing it into the main office by March 3rd. There are so many choices for electives and courses in genres like religious studies, English, communications, world language, social studies, mathematics, engineering, science, technology, fine arts, health, physical education, driver education, business, and the exchange program.

Freshmen are new to this process, so they and at least one of their parents attended the meeting. At this meeting, they learned about waivers, credits, driver’s ed, AP classes, and exchange classes. Jennifer L. said, “The meeting helped me get a better understanding of what I want to do in college. It also answered my questions about how many credits I need.” This meeting has given  information to help students pick electives for their upcoming years at Padua.

All students had the opportunity to attend the elective fair in the cafetorium on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. At this fair, students could ask teachers about the elective and get information to further their progress on picking electives.

After talking to teachers and your guidance counselor, and of course your parent’s permission, you can hand in the filled out class assignment sheet to the main office. High school is a time of trying new things and participating in different electives is a perfect example. The 2014-2015 year will be here before you know it and that is why it is important to get ready by picking classes for next year.
