Labor Day Activities

Labor Day is the official ending of summer, but there’s so many activities to do to end the summer, both locally and in surrounding areas, like Philadelphia.

Going to Delaware’s beaches have always been a popular activity during Labor day weekend. Many people go to enjoy a weekend with family and friends by spending the last time in the water, on the sand, and in the sun before school starts up again.  Cameron Lucey, a freshman at Padua, was at the beach Labor Day weekend and said, “I always go to the beach Labor Day weekend and spend my day on the beach and in the water, and it’s always a good time.” Longwood Gardens is a great place to be because it has so many things to do and see.  At Longwood Gardens people can attend is the Open Air Theatre Fountain shows and Daytime Main Fountain Garden. Longwood Gardens is an especially enjoyable experience with the family.

The Made in America Music Festival in Philly  included performances by Jay Z, Kanye West and Kings of Leon. Another big event in Philly is going to Franklin Square. Here visitors can take rides on the Lightning Bolt Express Train, play carnival games, try out mini golf, and more.

Of course, many people still enjoy Labor Day weekend at home, where they have parties and barbecues in their backyard with friends and family. People also go to community or backyard pools and have people over and enjoy the pool.
