You Have Been Pope’d

In anticipation of the Pope’s visit to America, Mrs. Duppel’s Morality class decided to celebrate by participating in their own rendition of a common TV show. If you have ever heard of the TV show “Punk’d” then you might already have an idea of what went down. On Thursday, September 22nd Mrs. Duppel’s first period class went around the school “popeing” classrooms. A student in the class, Alysse Young, states, “There is no better way to celebrate the upcoming visit of the pope then what we did in class. It was one of the best morality classes we have had all year and really got me excited for the pope’s visit.”

The class started by Mrs. Duppel explaining to them what they were going to be going around the school with their “Flat Francis”. The students would walk into a classroom and scream, “You have been pope’d!” In the show “You’ve been Punk’d” they would go around pranking people and scream, “You’ve been punk’d” which is what Mrs. Duppel’s Morality class tried to recreated in a similar sense. After the class got over the initial shock of the unexpected visitors, the students would take a picture with the “Flat Francis.” Another student in the morality class Meredith Scanlon explained, “This was a really fun activity and you could really see the surprise in the people’s face as we walked into their classroom.”
