What’s better than summer weather, sitting by the pool, and relaxing in the sand? Concerts! In the summertime, many bands and artists of all sorts of music attract an extremely large amount of people to their shows. This could be because of the great talents of these performers or because of the warm weather and excited concert-goers.

One popular concert that has attracted the attention of many people is the upcoming Taylor Swift concert. On June 12th and 13th, this young and talented singer will be filling the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia for her 1989 World Tour. The tour, which kicked off on May 5 in Tokyo, Japan, will go until October 31, 2015, when Taylor plays her final show in Tampa, Florida. The tour will reach an immense amount of cities and people from all over the world, including Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Popular singers Shawn Mendes and Vance Joy will both be accompanying Taylor Swift on part of her tour and will be opening for her at many of her shows. Some of the popular songs by Taylor Swift that are expected to be included in her set list for the shows include “Shake It Off,” “Style,” “Blank Space,” and “Out of the Woods.”

Many students from Padua will be attending this concert in mid-June. Katie McGonigal (‘18) says that she’s looking forward to going to the concert with her friends. She states, “I’ve always loved Taylor Swift’s music and I can’t wait to see her perform live! I also love Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes and I am so excited that they will be opening for Taylor.”
