Cheer for Charity: JV Edition

On February 15, Padua’s own Junior Varsity cheer team took the mat at this year’s Cheer for Charity event. They gave their best performance yet, earning them first place. A lot of people have heard about the large event known as Cheer for Charity. It’s a really interesting event that raises a lot of money for those in need. The JV cheerleaders were really excited they had the opportunity to take part.

Cheer for Charity is a competition that raises money to benefit the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. This year, the organization received $39,000 at the Bob Carpenter Center. First place in the JV division went to Padua’s JV team. Sarah Manno (’18) says, “I think it’s really cool how we can do something we love while still being able to help people.” Sarah has taken part in the competition many times, but this is her first year with the JV team.

A lot of people don’t realize how incredible Cheer for Charity really is. Not only does it raise money for a good cause, but it also allows cheerleaders to do what they love while having the satisfaction of knowing they are helping people.
