Padua Antonian is an activity taught by Mr. Stoprya and Ms. Tamagni. In the activity, students write articles for the printed newspaper. Padua has been hosting this activity since 1993, and continues to thrive as a total of 18 students are currently enrolled in the activity.
Though Padua Antonian meets both A and B activity schedules, some students who are involved in different activities only come on A or B schedule. In the activity, students work hard to produce a printed copy of the newspaper for students to read about events that have happened at Padua, or even just news and how it relates to Padua students.
In the activity, some of the articles that are being written for the next issue, which will be distributed at the end of April include the following: what’s it like to be a twin, how sleep can affect teenagers, freshmen on “what I wish I knew the first week I came to Padua,” tattoos, interviews with the Austrian students. Some other features in the paper also include a quiz on the faculty’s first jobs, Q&A on “Who would you like to be for a day?.”
Now that Padua Academy offers a Multimedia Journalism class, it is a bit harder for students to pick which articles to write about, due to the fact that Multimedia Journalism writes articles on a more timely basis on Padua360. However, participating in Padua Antonian allows students to write articles on other topics not strictly having to do with news just around Padua, and these articles can also be submitted at any time of year.
