American Horror Story Freakshow is Terrifyingly Good

The fourth season of American Horror Story, the hit FX horror TV show, debuted on Wednesday, October 8th, at 10 pm. The season is titled Freakshow, as each season takes place in a different time period and setting, with completely different characters. Freakshow, as it is aptly named, takes place at a 1950’s carnival. The main attraction is a circus showcasing “freaks” who are often people with physical abnormalities. When a series of murders begin to take place in the little town of Jupiter, Florida where their carnival is set up, the “freaks” must prove their innocence and keep their struggling Freakshow afloat.

The cast includes Evan Peters, who plays Jimmy Darling, a boy with abnormally long fingers that are fused together. Also included is Sarah Paulson, who plays two separate characters, Bette and Dot Taddler,  who share a body as they are conjoined twins. Interestingly enough, American Horror Story also employed Jyoti Amge, who was named by Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest women in the world. Jessica Lange also plays a large role as the charismatic leader of the troupe.

Rebecca Miller(‘18) says she “thought it was really good and it will be very interesting because it doesn’t take place in modern times.”

Although very graphic and explicit, American Horror Story: Freakshow was a very good premiere. Also quite terrifying, as many viewers have had nightmares about clowns since they watched it.  As it is rated TV mature, make sure to have a parents permission before watching.
