Wilmington Flower Market
The Wilmington Flower Market is a nearly 100 year old tradition that supports the health of Delaware’s children. Each Mother’s Day weekend, this festival draws in thousands of people of all age. The Flower Market hosts musicians, artisans, food vendors, amusement park rides, and beautiful displays of flowers. This year, the festival was held at Rockford Park and took place from May 7th to May 9th. Many of the musical acts at the Flower Market are popular around the country, but some are locally known bands. This year, Lifehouse, Katy Tiz, Oh Honey, Young Rising Sons, and The Veronica’s performed, bringing in a large crowd of music lovers.
The community of Delaware and other surrounding states gathered this Mother’s Day weekend for another successful Flower Market. The performances, flower displays, food vendors, and rides were very enjoyable. Emma Lucey (’18) says, “I’ve been going to the Flower Market since I was little; I love the performances and the rides. I had a wonderful time this year, like always.” If you missed the Flower Market this year, there are other upcoming events in Delaware, like the Ice Cream Festival, Firefly Music Festival, the Arden Fair, the Italian Festival, the Greek Festival, and much more!
