On November 6, Padua field hockey made history. Only the second year qualifying for the state tournament, Padua defeated Woodbridge High School 3-0 for their first playoff win ever. They advanced to the second round to play Wilmington Christian School which resulted in a 1-0 win.

Next was the semi-final against number 1 seed, Cape Henlopen. After Cape scored the opening goal, Padua scored 3 straight penalty corners on tallies by Ashlee Brentlinger, Abby Boudart, and Samantha Haines to take a 3-1 lead. Cape raced ahead 4-3, when Padua’s Marissa Sipala scored late in regulation to force overtime. Cape eventually scored in overtime for a 5-4 win. Padua senior, Amy Walsh, summarizes the season saying, “I’m so proud of what the team has done this season and how far we got. We worked so hard to get to where we did and it made my last field hockey season one that I will always remember.”
