On April 12, 2012, Padua’s soccer teams traveled to North Carolina to play some of their most challenging games yet. One game, however, put Padua’s varsity team in the spotlight. Padua beat Latin Prep, ranked number 20 in the nation, with a score of 1-0. The goal was scored by Ariel Hyderkhan (‘12) four minutes into the game. Latin Prep was a challenging team to play, but Padua pulled through and was victorious. Padua’s soccer team showed how you can pull through if you work together as a team and stick together until the end. Padua didn’t let a tough crowd get the best of them, despite some of their remarks. As a strong representation of our school, Padua girls’ team effort shows that they have respect for the teams they play.
Padua’s varsity soccer team is undefeated this year with a record of 6-0. Victoria Pezdirtz (‘12), goalkeeper for Varsity, gives her opinion on Padua’s most challenging game this season, “I would probably say Latin Prep was the most challenging game so far; it was a really intense game. Padua was challenged both mentally and physically in this match and pulled through. These challenges are what made this game so much fun!”
