Beanies & Breakfast

Beanies+%26+Breakfast

Seniors were handed the ever-so familiar brown felt beanies Thursday morning in homeroom to give to their little sisters for the Beanies and Breakfast event held in the cafeteria. A feeling of nostalgia washed over some seniors who felt as though it was just yesterday they wore their beanies throughout the halls of Padua.

The big sisters retrieved their little sisters from their homerooms and then headed to the cafeteria for their second meeting of the school year with their little sisters. Friends grouped together throughout the cafeteria and patiently waited to be called up to get in line for food. While waiting, the sisters got to know each other better by asking questions and sharing small talk. They learned about what each other did over the summer, what sports they play, and what hobbies or extracurricular activities they participate in. They even got to meet each others friends and find out what they have in common with them as well.

The students raved about the delicious breakfast that was served consisting of french toast dippers, bacon, fruit, muffins, and juices or water. After they finished up their breakfast, many pictures were taken with each sister and their groups of friends. By that time it was time to get to second period and the sisters had to part. The short time spent with each other was enough for long lasting friendships to grow stronger between the sisters.
