iOS 6 verses iOS 8: Which is Better?

Apple has dominated the technology market ever since its introduction to the iPhone in June 2007. After the introduction of the first iPhone followed what became known as iOS, a mobile operating system exclusively for Apple products.

iOS 6 is the sixth major system designed by Apple, initially released in September 2012. It was notable for its support of 16:9 displays for the then-new iPhone 5, for a new, Google-free version of the Maps app, Passbook, Facebook integration, and Siri enhancements.

iOS 8 was released two years after iOS 6 in September 2014. It has a sleeker design, faster processing, new health applications, and much more. “iOS 8 is a lot more advanced and there is so many more things I can do with it,” says Emily Sardo (‘18). Gabriella Frabizzio (’18) also adds that, “The new sleek design is more pleasing to the eyes.”

Apple continues to improve their operating systems, with new features and designs. Many people can agree that the iOS 8 is much more advanced than iOS 6 but either way, there is an overall satisfying experience given when using Apple products.
