On Wednesday October, 17, the freshman class went to the Sight and Sound Theater to see Jonah!. The Sight and Sound Theater, located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, puts on musical shows that bring the Bible to life. Currently, the theater is performing Jonah!, a story about the prophet Jonah and his journey to learn to trust God and to forgive the enemy nation of Nivea. Throughout the show live animals joined the cast members on stage. A few of the creatures that attended were cows, horses, donkeys, and even some llamas! Sarah Cottrell (‘16) says, “I thought the special effects and how they projected stuff onto a screen were cool. I would definitely go back.” The moral of the play was to maintain a strong relationship with God. All of the freshman enjoyed this amazing trip.
Under the Sea
In the story of the prophet Jonah, he is thrown into the sea and swollowed by a whale, where he is trapped for three days. The freshmen were plunged underwater where they joined the amazing sea life that magically floated through the air. Emily Rock (‘16) says, “It was really cool how the set was neon. It was dark and the set popped out.” Along with the bright scenery, there were cloth waves rolling over the audience and sea creatures swimming around them. This trip to the Sight and Sound Theater to see Jonah! was a wonderful opportunity for the class of 2016 to become closer to God and each other.
