Music of May

Music+of+May

As nearly every Padua student knows, music is a major part of a teenager’s life. In fact, on average, Americans listen to 4 hours of music each day. With summer approaching, so are festivals, concerts, and album releases.

This May, there have been several major album releases, including music from Mumford and Sons, Twenty One Pilots, Zedd, Alesso, and Lifehouse. In June, there will be new music from Florence and the Machine, Jason Derulo, Muse, Nate Ruess and several more artists. There have yet to be many albums announced to be released in the late summer, but it is expected that albums from Frank Ocean, Rihanna, and Coldplay will be available for purchase sometime later this year. In the meantime, there are plenty of concerts in the area that feature famous musicians. Artists like Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande, Twenty One Pilots, Alt-J, Ed Sheeran, and hundreds more, will be performing in the Greater Philadelphia Area over the next few months.

Emma Lucey ‘18, says, “I’m going to my 2nd Taylor Swift concert this summer, and I couldn’t be more excited! I use Spotify to listen to music everyday.” Between these concerts, the Firefly Music Festival, Radio 104.5 Block Parties, the Bellevue Concert Series, and much more, there will be many opportunities to enjoy music this summer!
