Many doctors expect the worst for him while he continues to fight for his life. His adopted parents and their pastor pray for a miracle while staying close to him every step of the way. His mother Joyce Smith (Chrissy Metz) immediately used her faith and prayed for him.

In the movie, while John and his family were still in the hospital, their entire community gathered together outside of his hospital bed window and began to sing touching music of hope.
