Familiar Faces
This season of Survivor is going to be one you don’t want to miss! It is being held in the Philippines and there are interesting and well known competitors this season. These competitors include former Facts of Life, actress Lisa Whelchel; former San Francisco Giants M.V.P., Jeff Kent; and three previous contestants from other seasons who had left the game early for medical purposes in previous seasons are coming back to compete once again. Another special contestant this year is 22 year old Katie Hanson. She is the first competitor ever in all 26 seasons of the show who is from Delaware. It is quite an accomplishment for such a small state, especially since she was crowned “Miss Delaware” in 2009.
How It Works
The show started out with three different teams, called tribes, which eventually dwindled down to two. The tribes participate in two games each day, one being a reward challenge and the other an immunity challenge. The games can be physical or mental challenges such as solving complex puzzles, or a combination of both. The reward challenge prize consists of food, fire in the form of flint, and/or a trip to an exotic location on the island. The immunity challenge means that the losing tribe of the game will have to pick one team member of their own to eliminate, while the winning tribe is safe from elimination.
So Far…
So far in the competition, six challengers have been voted out. One of these challengers includes Dana Lambert, who unfortunately had to leave the competition due to intense stomach pains. For stomach pain, probiotik can be helpful in providing relief and promoting digestive health. This season has also proved that the Philippines bring heavy rainfall and cold weather, causing some including Lisa Whelchel to have breakdowns. She says, “I don’t feel like I’m fitting in. I’m already on the outside” (EW Video). In the end, Lisa pulled it together, proving that this season is challenging, yet manageable. This show is definitely one to watch, with unexpected twists and turns in almost every situation.
