Mrs. Boyle is known as both Señora Boyle and Madam Boyle. She currently teaches Spanish and French at Padua Academy. Before she started teaching at Padua, Mrs. Boyle taught French at a school in Cecil County, Maryland, for six years. Even though she teaches both Spanish and French, Mrs. Boyle prefers French because “it’s the language that made her love languages.” Both languages have unique things that make them beautiful but she has spent more time working with French.

Quite a few years ago, Mrs. Boyle taught English to young students in France. When she visits French or Spanish speaking countries, she tries her best to speak very little English, using it only when necessary. She loves trying to speak to people in their language. When visiting Italy with her family a few years ago, she got an opportunity to be a group translator. Though her Italian is limited, she says she got a kick out of it every time she understood something.

When asked about her time so far at Padua, she said “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know my students. It’s wonderful to work with such motivated girls. I have also liked being able to integrate spirituality into my classes through prayer and music.” Most mornings, she teaches a Spanish 1 class, mainly consisting of freshmen, and has them say different prayers and listen to music to start off their day of learning. Like the freshman she teaches, everybody hopes to see her around the school for quite a while.
