All Time Low at the Mann

On Friday, May 22nd, I went to go see All Time Low in concert. The concert was held at The Mann’s Skyline Stage in Philadelphia. The Skyline Stage is an outdoor venue on the lawn with general admission. The venue was made to have a festival-like experience, which it succeeding in doing on Friday night. The stage was on a hill on the Mann’s campus, and if you looked out you would have a view of the Philadelphia skyline. The concert was one of many concerts in All Time Low’s  Future Hearts tour.

The night started at around six o’clock. People were starting to come in, or were already there, for the concert. The first band, State Champs, is a pop-punk band, and their set lasted for about thirty minutes. The second band, Tonight Alive, is an Australian rock band, and at this point, most of the crowd had arrived. The third band, Issues, a metalcore band, was much wilder. The crowd was very dense at this point, and I was constantly trying not to fall. If you’re a person that does not enjoy large crowds or noisy areas, I wouldn’t recommend this venue. The main band for the night, All Time Low, which is a pop-punk band, came on stage. The lights dimmed and their new song Satellite from the latest album, Future Hearts, began to play.

Overall, my experience was wonderful, but my problem was that I was constantly being pushed around or trying to stay in my spot. Also, since it was outdoors and everyone is moving around constantly, there were many clouds of dust. I knew that the concert itself would be loud and rowdy, but I certainly wasn’t prepared that night. I went with fellow freshman student Danielle Eckton who said, “The All Time Low concert was amazing. It was one of the best nights of my life, even though there was so much dust. I wish I could go back.”  If you’re going to any concert, outdoor especially, I would recommended a bottle of water and closed-toe shoes!
