Padua’s Competitive Cheer leading Team arrived at the DCCA State Competition on March 8th and left with two first place titles. The cheerleaders have had not only a successful competitive season, but also a great fall season by cheering for Salesianum’s football team. This year is the fourth consecutive year that the team entered the State Competition, but this is the first time that both Varsity and Junior Varsity were awarded 1st place. Though the Varsity team has won the State Competition in the past, the cheerleaders are more excited than ever. Franky Sedlacek ‘18, a member of the varsity team, says, “The practices are difficult and demanding, but they are definitely worth it for the success we have had this season.”

Furthermore, over the weekend of March 14th, Padua’s Cheer leading Team traveled to Virginia Beach for the “The Grand National Champion by the Sea”. For the second year in a row, Padua’s Varsity cheer team came in first place and earned the title of National Champions! Now that the competition season is over, the team has already begun preparing for next year. Padua may be notorious for their amazing runners and volleyball players, but the cheer leading team is growing stronger everyday!
