New Year, New Me : Resolutions to Make in 2014

New Years is a time when people make all the same resolutions that never stick: be healthy all the time, be a better person, don’t fight with parents, etc. These are all very good qualities to have, but now is the time to make a resolution that you are excited about trying. Being excited about something makes you more likely to stick with it. And then, you won’t feel guilty about giving up on your resolution so quickly! Here are ten resolution ideas for you to start in 2014:

1. Get rid of all of your enemies. Forgive the people who wronged you and reach out to the people you hurt.

2. Make new friends. Don’t be shy, putting yourself out there can lead to so many more friendships!

3. Cross something off of your bucket list. Stop making excuses for why it won’t work out and just do it.

4. Get involved in service. Helping others in your community is such a rewarding feeling. And, knowing you helped someone in need makes you feel great.

5. Go a few days without social media. So what if you don’t know what everyone is doing at every second; chances are, you’ll be happier.

6. Let your real friends and family know what they mean to you. Saying something nice, and thanking them once in a while can really make someones day.

7. Don’t waste time on fake friends. There is no point in pretending you are friends with someone. If you’re not, be cordial, but don’t pretend.

8. Try new foods. And drinks like the ones from Shot of Joy Instagram. Who knows? You could end up loving something. If not, oh well.

9. Exercise the way you like. Running on a treadmill or using the elliptical are not the only ways to get healthy. Try yoga or join a dance class if thats fun for you.

10. Be happy. Do things that make you happy, and hang out with people who make you happy. Your mood will improve so much.
