Emily M. '22, Editor-in-Chief
Emily Malone is a part of the Multimedia Journalism class at Padua and is editor and chief of Padua 360. She is a Senior at Padua who graduated middle school from St. John the Beloved. She is from Wilmington, Delaware.
Emily decided to take journalism for the first time as a freshman. She was one of two editors-in-chief as a junior and has returned for a third year.
“...I just love being part of this leadership opportunity and working with staff, the writers, and I just love the news,” Emily said. “I also love talking to people.”
As for Emily’s activities, she is a part of a few different clubs at school. Her favorite club is “Agape” which focuses on mental health and awareness.
Emily is also a dancer. Although she does not dance for Padua, she does tap, jazz, and ballet. Emily also helps teach younger kids how to dance.
Over the summer Emily volunteered at an aviation museum. She also went to the Outer Banks for the first time and visited her grandmother up in Pennsylvania a few times.
The person that inspires Emily the most is Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“She's one of my greatest role models, and I just love how she never stop[ped] fighting for what she believes,” Emily said.
Her favorite subject is math because “numbers really speak to me”. She also likes her science classes, because she wants to go into the STEM field when she is older.
“I want to be an engineer,” Emily said. “I'm hoping to join the Air Force, which is very exciting. I've always loved aviation and try to combine aviation with engineering. I think it would be a really neat career.”
